Coronavirus Update - Letter to Patients
This letter is currently being sent out to our high risk, vulnerable patients. If there is a delay in this getting to you we have attached a copy below:
Letter to Patient
As you are aware we are limiting access to patients coming into St Andrews Community Hospital and the GP Practices for the foreseeable future. Due to this we are asking all our patients who have registered for Patient Access to please order all repeat medication online and state which Pharmacy you would like your prescription to go to.
If you are not registered you can find our online application form in the Online Services Tab where you are able to download, sign and email it back to us if possible. We are then able to process your application a lot quicker this way. Once registered for Patient Access we will email your login details to the email address given.
As of Monday 16th March we have set up a Prescription Request Station by the entrance to the GP Reception Desks. Please place your repeat slip into the post box provided on the wall. There are blank request slips on the desk too. Please ensure you have ticked the Pharmacy you wish your prescription to be sent to. Unfortunately at present we are not able to offer the Collect Service from our Reception Desk. Also as per normal protocol ensure that you request your medication at least one week before you reach the end of your medication as we cannot do same day prescriptions. Many thanks.
In line with current guidance and to protect as many of our patients as possible we are now limiting the access to our routine face-to-face appointments for the foreseeable future. Should you feel you require a routine appointment, you will be given a telephone consultation in the first instance. If the clinician who consults with you over the phone feels that it is necessary for you to come into the Practice to be seen, they will then schedule an appointment for you.
In the meantime we have also temporarily suspending Online Access for making routine appointments.
There is currently no change to our Urgent/Same Day appointments you will be triaged as normal in the morning. Please ensure you call the Practice from 8am if you feel you need to be seen on the day. There is also no change to appointments for patients requiring annual health reviews for ongoing chronic diseases or blood tests.
We trust that you will understand that this is a rapidly changing situation and that we will endeavour to run as normal a service as possible whilst working within the current government guidance. We will continue to update this section of the website and our telephone message as the advice changes. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
If you are concerned you may be affected. Please DO NOT attend the GP Practice.
